Tuberculosis meningitis

Classification

Stage 1

Conscious and rational, no deficits, non-specific signs and symptoms

Stage 2

Conscious with alterations in behaviour, meningeal irritation, minor neurodeficits

Stage 3

Convulsions, abnormal movement, comatose with severe neurological deficits

Neurological deficits: hemiparesis, papilloedema, cranial nerve palsies, stupor
